Escaped female inmate captured in Charlotte

- An inmate who was reported missing from The Center for Community Transitions about one week ago was captured by the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department early Friday morning. 

Regina Davis was arrested around 4 a.m. in the Tyvola Road area of Charlotte. 

Officers said she will be moved to a higher custody facility and faces charges in her escape. 

Davis was reported missing last Friday from The Center for Community Transitions, a work release for minimum custody female offenders in Charlotte. She was last seen near the facility around 9 p.m. that night. 

She has been serving a sentence for robbery with a dangerous weapon and was admitted to prison on July 28, 2009. Davis was scheduled for release in Nov. 2019.
