Expect heavy security, traffic as President Trump returns to Charlotte

- President Trump is scheduled to visit the Queen City on Friday to campaign for Republican Mark Harris who is in a tight race with Democrat Dan McCready for North Carolina's 9th District congressional seat. 

The rally on Friday, Oct. 26 will take place at Bojangles' Coliseum located on Independence Boulevard. Doors will open at 3 p.m. and the program is set to start at 7 p.m. 

Crowds have already begun to form. 

Rush hour traffic could be impacted by the presidential visit. Air Force One normally lands shortly before President Trump's rallies begin, with the president traveling via motorcade along blocked-off roads to his destination.

Traffic delays along major roadways are likely. Drivers were warned that traveling between Charlotte-Douglas International Airport and Bojangles' Coliseum on Friday should prepare for traffic and delays related to President Donald Trump's visit.
