CHARLOTTE, NC (FOX 46 WJZY) - A wind chill advisory is in place for Avery, Ashe and Watauga Counties for Tuesday night into Wednesday morning.
The advisory goes into effect at 8 p.m. on Tuesday and will run until 8 a.m. Wednesday. During those times expect sustained winds between 10-20 mph.
Those winds will make for wind chill values between 5 and 10 below zero. In those conditions frostbite and hypothermia can occur if precautions are not taken.
Be sure to bundle up and wear and gloves and hat if you’re planning on going out during those times.
