Forecast: Bitterly cold start to the day Wednesday

- It was a bitterly cold start to the day with most places waking up to temperatures in the 20s.

A dusting of snow also fell across the Mountains causing slick roads and school closures. Along with the snow, the Mountains dealt with windy conditions and below zero wind chills.

The winds will continue to be gusty over the high terrain today making it feel blustery all day long.

[SCHOOL CLOSURES AND DELAYS]

The rest of the day will be sunny but chilly with highs topping out in the middle 40s for most of the area. The Mountains will hold in the lower 30s, but wind chills are expected to be in the teens and 20s.

It won't stay cold that long, we will back in the 60s by the end of the week. Rain is expected to return this weekend, so get the umbrella ready.

Wednesday: Mostly sunny and chilly. High 45.

Thursday: Slightly warmer with clouds and sunshine. High 51
