CHARLOTTE, NC - Charlotte Fire is investigating after an early morning fire in west Charlotte.
The fire started in the attic of a home on Darby Avenue around 4 a.m. The fire stretched across the home and flames ripped through the roof.
Two adults, three children and two dogs were sleeping when the first ripped through the home, according to Charlotte Fire. No injuries have been reported.
Red Cross was called out to help the family displaced by the house fire.
Investigators remains on the property to determine the cause of the fire. The home is deemed unsafe.
