Female inmate escapes from Charlotte facility

- State officials are searching for a female inmate who escaped from a Charlotte facility.

Regina Davis, 33, was last seen around 9 p.m. Friday, Aug. 31. Authorities said Davis escaped from the minimum security facility, The Center for Community Transitions, which is a work release facility for female inmates.

Davis has a medium build and medium complexion, according to state officials. She is 5 foot 6 inches tall and weighs around 207 lbs. She has brown hair and hazel eyes. 

Officials said Davis is originally from Texas and is serving a sentence for robbery with a dangerous weapon. She was scheduled to be released in November 2019.
