Cynthia and others are looking into the future to the possibilities in the Five Points area after a two day temporary transformation by the Better Block Project.

"It's a way of testing how communities activate vacant spaces or underutilized spaces," said Alysia Osborne the Director of Historic West End at Charlotte Center City Parks.

Enderly Coffee taking over one of the vacant buildings for the trial period tell FOX 46 feedback has been positive.

After getting a taste of what the future could be like those in the area are looking forward to the new look.

"This is a low poverty area and to upgrade it is going to be awesome," said Carr-Douglass.
"It will actually bring more people out here to feel comfortable to just come sit. The downtown area is wonderful. Why can't we have our area upgraded as well," she said.
