Fort Mill police officer fired after North Carolina DWI arrest

- The Fort Mill Police Department has fired one of their own after she was arrested in North Carolina earlier this month on multiple charges including DWI, drug possession, and illegal carrying of a gun.

Tanya Moore Ervin-Leonhardt, 55, an officer since 2002, was fired on Sunday, June 3 just one day after she was arrested on Saturday, June 2 in Cherryville. 

Ervin-Leonhardt was charged for felony illegal carry of a firearm, driving while impaired, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, reckless driving, and open container.

She was released on $2,500 bond following her arrest.
