The issue, Children's Advocacy Network receives Medicaid funds -- and people are wondering where's the money?
One teenage girl, who told FOX 46 she stayed at the group home for three months, said there was never enough funding to take care of basic needs.
"It was just unacceptable," the teenage girl said. "I wouldn't let my dog live in those conditions."
The child said the home had issues with maggots, bed bugs, mold and more. Multiple employees complained about the same issues to FOX 46 Charlotte. All said the company couldn't afford to take care of the problems.
One employee shared a photo with FOX 46 of what appeared to be a bed bug on a pillow.

FOX 46 Charlotte reached out to C.A.N. multiple times and was forwarded this statement...
"Regarding the group home, we have been following all state and local regulations, including fire inspections and health and sanitation inspections. Our agency has been in business for over 14 years, and we have prided ourselves in going beyond to provide the highest quality of services. We have gone beyond in our work with our consumers, families, and community partners, to ensure strong collaboration occurs for the treatment needs of the consumers. We have maintained a positive relationship and reputation with the MCOs that we are in contract with for services. We have offered support, training, and at times retraining of our employees over and beyond our corporate compliance policy, to ensure the highest quality of services are delivered to the consumers.
While we support any employee advocating for their rights and those of our consumers, no one takes that role more importantly than ourselves. The personal sacrifices that we have made as management, are and have been because of the belief in trying do what is right. When companies go through times of difficulty, there will always be individuals who will use that opportunity to advance their own agenda.
We remain committed to our work, our families, our employees, and our community."
