GASTON COUNTY, NC - The North Carolina Highway Patrol has identified a man who was killed in an accident involving a logging truck Monday.
The crash happened at 12:55 p.m. Monday, February 22 on Ferguson Road near the South Carolina state line in Gaston County.
Police say the accident involved a logging truck and a pickup truck.
The driver of the logging truck was transported to Caremont Regional Medical Center in Gastonia for treatment. The driver of the pickup, Robert Jones, 43, of Gastonia, was pronounced dead on scene.
Police say the driver of the logging truck crossed the center line while driving. They say it tried to get back into its lane and overturned - hitting the oncoming pickup.
The driver of the logging truck will face charges, police say.
All lanes have since reopened.
