Gastonia woman accused in murder-for-hire plot

- UPDATE: Philbeck had her first appearance in Gaston County Court today. Her $1 million bond was not changed. Her probable cause hearing is scheduled for Aug. 10.

The Gastonia Police Department arrested a woman who they say tried to hire someone to kill her husband.

The suspect, Jessica Nicole Philbeck was charged with solicitation to commit first-degree murder following an investigation by the Gastonia Police Department.
The victim, Thomas "Grant" Pasour, was Philbeck's husband, but the two are now separated, according to Gastonia PD.
"I knew she was crazy, I just never knew she was this crazy," family friend Michael Green said.
Pasour told FOX 46 Charlotte his wife has been seeing multiple men and uses illegal drugs. He said she might have wanted him out of the picture, permanently, but said he will wait for more evidence before speaking further.
Pasour said the Gastonia Police Department has a video recording of Philbeck communicating her desire to hire someone to kill her husband and he is waiting to view that video.
"She needs to go to prison and she needs to stay there for a long time," Green added.
Officers say they received a tip concerning Philbeck on July 17. She was arrested as a result of the information and now is being held in the Gaston County jail under a $1 million bond.
