CHARLOTTE, NC (FOX 46 WJZY) - Hazmat crews responded to an overturned tanker truck Wednesday afternoon in northwest Charlotte, according to the Charlotte Fire Department.
The accident happened on the Mount Holly Road on ramp to I-485 north.
The area is expected to be shut down for several hours. Authorities have blocked traffic about a quarter mile away due to the tanker leaking fuel.

Significant delays are being reported. Drivers are asked to avoid the area, if possible.
