Hickory woman accused of selling meth, heroin with 4-year-old in the home

- A Hickory woman is facing multiple charges after deputies said she was caught selling crystal methamphetamine, heroin, and other drugs with a 4-year-old child in the home.

The Catawba County Sheriff's Office said they were called to a house at 1411 23rd Ave NE in Hickory after receiving complaints from neighbors that Anita Michelle McGee was involved in the selling of crystal meth.

While searching the home, the sheriff's office Drug Task Force located about 75 grams of crystal meth, heroin, and marijuana. Digital scales, syringes, packaging material, and other drug paraphernalia were found throughout the home.

Deputies said a 4-year-old child was inside the house at the time the search warrant was conducted.

McGee is charged with one felony count trafficking a schedule II controlled substance (crystal methamphetamine) by possession, one felony count of possession of a schedule I substance (heroin), one count of possession with intent to sell and deliver schedule VI controlled substance (marijuana), one count of maintaining a dwelling for controlled substances, one count of possession of drug paraphernalia, and one count of misdemeanor child abuse.

McGee is being held at the Catawba County Detention Center under a $68,000 secure bond. DSS was contacted and arrangements were made for the child to live with another family member.
