High Point man arrested in BB&T Bank robbery

- A High Point man was arrested after police say he robbed a local bank Wednesday morning. 

The incident happened at 11:50 a.m. Wednesday, March 23 at the BB&T Bank on 620 N. Main Street. 

Witnesses said the man walked into the bank implying he had a weapon and threatened bank employees while demanding cash. 

The man fled the bank with an undisclosed amount of money. 

Shortly after the robbery, officers found the man nearby. Jimmy Lee Johnson, 49, was arrested and charged with robbery. 

Johnson remains in jail on a $60,000 bond.
