CHARLOTTE, NC (FOX 46) - Charlotte-Mecklenburg police have identified a young man who was shot and killed Wednesday night in east Charlotte.
The teen has been identified as Kevin Ruben Marquez, 19. His family has been notified of his death,.
Officers were called to the 3500 block of Spanish Quarter Circle at 8:13 p.m. Wednesday, April 5 for an assault with a deadly weapon.
Upon arrival, police located a young man in a breezeway of an apartment complex with an apparent gunshot wound. Marquez was pronounced dead on scene.
Representatives of the Mecklenburg County District Attorney’s Homicide Prosecution Team, Homicide Support Group, Gang Unit, Real Time Crime and Operations Command responded Wednesday night to the scene.
No word on motive or if police have a suspect yet in this case.
