Man killed after shot in the neck in west Charlotte on Labor Day

- A man is dead after he was shot in the neck while standing outside of an apartment in a parking lot Monday night in west Charlotte, police said. 

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police responded to the 2400 block of Pruitt Street just after 8:00 p.m. for a report of shots fired. Upon arrival, they found Juordan Malik Hill, 20, dead on scene. 

Officers said Hill was shot in the neck while standing outside in a parking lot with several other people around. After he was hit, Hill ran inside a nearby apartment where he collapsed. 

It is unclear how many suspects are involved at this time. This case remains open and active.
