HUNTERSVILLE, NC (FOX 46 WJZY) - A Huntersville neighborhood has been repeatedly victimized by people breaking into cars and even stealing a car. Now, one resident said it might be time to take action into her own hands.
"I'm looking forward to taking my pillow and blanky," resident and former American auto racer, Shirley Muldowney said, as she mentioned she would sleep in her car in hopes of catching the thieves in an act.
Muldowney's car was not broken into but three cars belonging to her neighbors were during the early morning hours of Saturday, Aug. 11.
One of those cars was stolen.
"If you like your head, stay out of here because heads are going to roll," Muldowney said. "You're going to be chasing your head out of this place."
The Huntersville Police Department is investigating.
All vehicles were left unlocked. One resident on the NextDoor app said this was the third time her car had been broken into within the past year.
