Iredell County men arrested after alleged hatchet assault

- Two men have been arrested by the Mooresville Police Department for assaulting a man with what appeared to be an axe or a hatchet.

Officers were called to Cannon Pharmacy around noon on Sunday, Nov. 5 for the report of an assault. Upon arrival, they located Jamie Shane Richard, 41, of Maiden who had sustained severe injuries to his head and face.

The victim reported he had been struck by an axe or hatchet at 2424 Statesville Highway, then ran through the woods to Cannon Pharmacy for help. Richard was transported to Carolinas Medical Center for treatment. Prior to being transported, Richard identified two suspects.

Michael Bruce Adams, 41, of Mooresville has been arrested and charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury and second-degree kidnapping. He is being held in the Iredell County Jail under a $150,000 secured bond.

Jesse Paul Super, 36, of Mooresville has been arrested and charged with second-degree kidnapping. He is in the Iredell County Jail under a $100,000 secured bond.
