IREDELL COUNTY, NC (FOX 46 WJZY) - A teacher in Iredell County is facing multiple charges after deputies believe she sexually abused a 15-year-old boy who was living with her under foster care.
Christina Davis Jolly, 43, is charged with five felony counts of statutory rape of a child 15-years-old or younger and two felony counts of statutory sex offense of a child 15-year-old or younger.
According to the sheriff's office, Jolly, who was the teen's guardian, was engaging in an inappropriate relationship with the 15-year-old.
Jolly agreed to relinquish foster parents rights to the juvenile in July 2018 and was to have no contact with him after that point. While the investigation was ongoing, it was discovered Jolly was still in contact with the teen through several social media channels.
Iredell County deputies executed a search warrant at Jolly's home and seized several computers and other electronic devices. She was arrested shortly after.
Jolly is currently being held at the Iredell County Detention Center under a $275,000 secured bond. She had been a teacher with the Iredell-Statesville School System up until this point. Deputies said the victim in this case was not a student of hers.
