K9 captures suspect after attempting to break into Gaston Co. home

- A Gaston County Police K9 captured a suspect attempting to break into a home on Tuesday.

Police responded to the area of Kiser Road and Dameron Road near Bessemer City in response to a Ford Explorer driving careless and recklessly through open fields and farm land.

Police said Justin Andrew Becker of Lincolnton got the vehicle stuck in a field in the 700 block of Kiser Road. He ran off and tried to break into an occupied home on Kiser. After the unsuccessful attempt, Becker tried to break into a crawl space under the home, according to police.

K9 Conner responded to the scene and crawled under the crawl space where he was able to get Becker out.
