Lancaster Deputies investigating woman's death

- The Lancaster County Sheriff's Office is investigating the death of a Kershaw woman.

On Saturday night around 8:00 p.m. deputies and emergency personnel were called out to a farm property on Floyd Road in Kershaw.

Deputies say a man told them that the woman told him she had been run over by his truck on his property. The woman was conscious at the scene and spoke to deputies and EMS, according to police.

The woman was headed to Springs Memorial Hospital but her condition started to worsen and EMS decided she should be airlifted from a landing zone in Heath Springs to Palmetto Health Richland in Columbia.

She was pronounced deceased shortly after her arrival to the hospital.

An autopsy was scheduled for Monday.

According to Sheriff Barry Faile, “We are waiting on autopsy results to know what caused the death of this lady.  We will continue to investigate this matter until we are satisfied we know what happened on Floyd Road Saturday night and will take such action as the results of the investigation dictate.  We ask that anyone with information about this event call us.  We will pursue all information we receive.”

Anyone with information about this or any other case should call the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office at 803-283-3388 or Crimestoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC or www.sccrimestoppers.com.
