HARRISBURG, NC (Fox 46 WJZY) - A home was struck by lightning in Harrisburg Sunday evening.
The incident took place on the 8200 block of Laurel Oak Court.
Harrisburg Fire Department said the lightning strike caused damage to the inside of the home. The homeowner reported “entire house lit up” and they soon smelled smoke.
Lightning reportedly hit the first floor bedroom knocking over nightstands and damaging sheetrock.
Officials located singed wood and insulation but no fire damage.
