Lightning strike causes house fire in south Charlotte

- Five people have been displaced after a lightning strike caused their home to catch fire Wednesday night, officials said.

According to Charlotte Fire, 31 firefighters were able to control the blaze in the 2400 block of Cumberland Avenue within 15 minutes. 

The fire, which officials said was caused by a lightning strike, caused about $65,000 worth of damage.

Fortunately no one was injured.
