Deputies, family search for missing Lincoln County man

- The Lincoln County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's in locating a missing man who hasn't been seen by family or friends in two days. 

Mitchell Brian Merck, 47, of Iron Station was reported missing by his family on Wednesday, Sept. 5. He was last seen when he left his home just before noon that day.

The last time he was in contact with his family was around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday when he sent a text message. Merck is 6'4" tall, weighing about 195 pounds, with gray hair and blue eyes.

Detectives said he's possibly driving a silver 2002 Hyundai Santa Fe with a temporary North Carolina license plate of 2398-5437.

He is known to frequent the Mocksville, Mooresville and the Salisbury area.
