City Council and Mayor Roberts presented Samaritan’s Feet with a proclamation making December 10th ‘Reconcile Charlotte Day.’ Efforts to reconcile the city started Tuesday.
Local faith leaders showed service by washing each other’s feet and tell Fox46 Charlotte is not just about one day, it’s a larger campaign to unite the city.
“We want to see our leaders become servants,” said Samaritan Feet founder Manny Ohnne. “And the water symbolizes to wash away this injustice.”
Pastor McCormick say Reconcile Charlotte Day and the larger campaign is about moving the city forward, past divide seen in the Uptown Protests, past divide seen in the presidential election and it starts with local faith leaders.
“In order for Charlotte to recognize the necessity of healing, it will take the leaders of the faith community to come together and show service,” said Pastor McCormick. “And that we are not too high to serve each other.”
