Man, accomplice arrested in deadly Hickory double shooting

- The Hickory Police Department announced a man wanted in connection to a deadly double shooting at an apartment complex in Hickory Thursday turned himself in to police early Friday morning. 

Daniel Jeremiah Minton, 19, is facing two counts of murder for the deaths of Branique Stephan Mcknight, 18, and Janarion Kaverio Knox, 20. 

Officers responded to 2830 12th Avenue SE Apt. B6 around 4 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 31 where there were reports of shots fired. 

Upon arrival, police found Mcknight and Knox suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Both young men died at the scene.

A second suspect has been arrested in connection to this case. Maurice Craig Brown, 20, is facing two counts of accessory after the fact to murder. 

Police said this incident does not appear to be a random act of violence.
