STATESVILLE, NC (FOX 46 WJZY) - A Statesville man has been arrested for possible sexual assaults involving an 11-year-old child, according to the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office.
Daniel Jackie Greene, 35, was arrested on Friday, Jan. 26 and charged with several felony crimes against a child.
A report was filed on Sunday, Jan. 21 stating that Greene was a suspect in several sexual assaults on a child that took place between July and December 2017 at the Green’s home.
The victim in the case was interviewed at Dove House Children’s Advocacy Center by a special victims unit detective. Based on interviews and statements, investigators were able to obtain multiple felony warrants on Greene.
Greene was initially charged with indecent liberties with a child, first degree statutory sex offense on minor by an adult, statutory rape of child by an adult, and first degree sexual exploitation of a minor. He was placed under a $200,000 secured bond.
On Monday, Jan. 29 he received additional felony warrants for two counts of first degree statutory sex offense on a minor by an adult and two counts of felony statutory rape of a child by an adult, and received an additional $50,000 bond.
“These types of cases are exactly why we have specialized units. The detectives who work in our specialized units are highly trained and are able to quickly work these types of cases to ensure the victim, the victim’s family and the community are made safe by arresting these particular types of criminals," said Iredell County Sheriff Darren Campbell.
The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are anticipated to be filed in the future.
