Man arrested for strangling woman, firing gun in domestic dispute

- An armed man has been taken into custody following a dangerous domestic dispute where shots were fired. 

Around 6:30 p.m. officers were called to the 8300 block of Parkland Circle. As officers were arriving at the scene, a man, Colton Threadgill, 24, fired a gun into the ground outside of an apartment as a woman was walking away from him. 

This happened after a domestic dispute between Threadgill and the woman where the woman had been strangled and assaulted. 

The officers were able to get the woman and after a brief standoff they were able to calm Threadgill down and take him into custody. 

Threadgill is being charged with assault on a female, discharging a firearm in the city limit, and felony assault by strangulation.
