MONROE, NC - A man is facing charges after police say he crashed his truck into a woman's car resulting in her death.
Monroe police say the accident happened about 6 a.m. Monday morning on US 74 eastbound near the intersection of Rocky River Road. According to police, 22-year-old Breana Ringerson was stopped at the light when 20-year-old Myles Pace collided with the rear end of her car. Ringerson had been driving a 2017 Nissan Sentra while Pace was in a 1998 Ford Ranger.
Ringerson was pronounced dead on scene. Pace was taken to CMC Main for treatment. He is charged with misdemeanor death by motor vehicle. Additional charges may be filed as police continue their investigation.
The accident shut down eastbound traffic on US 74 for nearly two hours. The scene has since been cleared.
