Man charged with kidnapping in Lancaster domestic violence case

- A Lancaster, SC man is being charged with kidnapping and domestic violence of a high and aggravated nature, according to the Lancaster Co. Sheriff's Office.

Clint Dewayne Kiker, 27, was arrested on Tuesday morning.

Deputies were called out to the 6000 block of Shiloh Unit Rd. at 6:20 a.m. to investigate a report that Kiker was assaulting a woman he lived with.

Deputies were not able to find anyone at the home but learned that Kiker forced the woman into a car and was driving toward Union Co.

Monroe Police Officers found the car and chased it, according to deputies.

Deputies say the woman jumped from the car during the pursuit. She reported Kiker beat her with his hands and fists, a two-by-four board and a broom handle.

She also reported he threatened to kill her if she refused to get in the car.

The woman was taken to the hospital for treatment. She had visible injuries to her face, head, torso, arms and legs. Her injuries are not life threatening.

Deputies say after the woman escaped Kiker continued to drive the car, despite running over spike strips. He crossed into Chesterfield Co. where deputies with Chesterfield Co. Sheriff's Office found him standing near the stopped car.

Kiker ran off into the woods but was caught by Lancaster Co. task force without incident after a brief search, according to deputies.

He was taken to Lancaster Co. Sheriff's Office and placed in the detention center.
