Man charged with killing his in-laws expected to be in court

- The man accused of killing his in-laws and injuring his wife in north Charlotte on Red Clay Lane is set to go before a judge Thursday. 

Vernel Smith Jr. is being held without bond for the July 2017 murders of Rufus and Jacqueline Gordon-White. 

Smith spent five days on the run before turning himself in to police.
