Man charged with making threats towards Lincolnton Detective

- A man has been arrested after being accused of making threats, cyberstalking and harassing a Lincolnton Police Dept. Detective, according to the Lincolnton Police Dept.

On Wednesday, Officers with Gaston Co. arrested Jason Webb on warrants in relation to the investigation.

He was placed in the Gaston Co. Jail with a $250,000 secured bond.

The detective charged Webb in 2015 with soliciting a minor by computer for sexual act and delivering marijuana.

Webb pleaded guilty to soliciting a minor by computer for a sexual act in Oct. 2015. Webb became a registered sex offender.

He is also on probation for his conviction of the charge listed above.

During March and April 2016 the detective started getting emails and voicemails threatening statement to him. An investigation was open and they discovered Webb was behind the threats.
