ALBEMARLE, NC (FOX 46 WJZY) - A man died after he was found behind the wheel of a crashed car with a gunshot wound in Albemarle over the weekend, police said.
Officers say they found 21-year-old Brian Milek Smith, of Concord, behind the wheel of a 2012 gray Hyundai Sonata Saturday evening after it crashed into a tree in the yard of 1110 Walnut Street. Emergency personnel administered CPR and Narcan before realizing Smith had been shot in the stomach area.
The North Carolina State Bureau of Investigations and the Albemarle Police Department are handling the investigation.
No arrests have been made at this time.
