CHARLOTTE, NC (FOX 46 WJZY) - A man exposed himself to a woman in a popular Charlotte neighborhood.
A lot of people walk their dogs along Warp Street in Noda, where the indecent exposure happened.
“I purposely walk my dog around 9:00 at night,” said long-time Noda resident, Tanya Sherman. “That's the latest I'll go out, because you never know who's out here,” she told FOX 46 Charlotte.
It was around 8:00 p.m. on Sunday when a 24-year-old woman says a man exposed himself to her. She wasn’t harmed, but reported the encounter to CMPD. The indecent exposure incident has other women in the neighborhood on edge.
“It makes me iffy to go out in my own neighborhood by myself,” said Angela Poe.
“No one should have that happen to them,” said Jamie Brewer, “but it's not like this area, for sure.”
Sherman thinks crime is on the rise in their neighborhood saying, “as sad as it is, I'm not really surprised in the sketchiness that's around here.”
A few people say they’d like to see police patrol the neighborhood occasionally to deter anyone from committing crimes.
“Just possibly have the police come around every once in a while through our neighborhood,” said Poe.
“My hope for the neighborhood is to just have more surveillance,” Sherman added.
CMPD tells FOX 46 the flashing fellow is still out there, and they don’t have a description to go on. Until he’s behind bars, neighbors are keeping their eyes peeled.
