Man gets 7 years in South Carolina love triangle shooting

YORK, S.C. (AP) - A man has been sentenced to seven years in prison for a "love triangle" shooting in South Carolina last year.

The Herald of Rock Hill reported that 33-year-old Richard Estes was sentenced Thursday in York for the October killing of 30-year-old Michael Tyson Dilda.

Prosecutors said Tilda was shot in the chest at his home in Rock Hill while Richard Estes' wife, Christiania Estes, was in the home.

Richard Estes pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter under a plea deal in which prosecutors dropped a murder charges.

Dilda's family and prosecutors wanted a 10-year sentence for Estes.

Estes' attorney requested a sentence of two years. He already has served nearly a year under house arrest.
