Man hospitalized after shooting in north Charlotte neighborhood

- A man has been hospitalized following an overnight shooting that began in a north Charlotte neighborhood and ended with the victim fleeing to a local Quick Trip, according to Charlotte-Mecklenburg police. 

The shooting happened at 1:11 a.m. Monday, June 25 in the 5200 block of Swearngan Road. 

Upon arrival, officers discovered the victim had left the scene with a friend in a vehicle. They drove to a local Quick Trip gas station about six minutes away on Brookshire Blvd. where they spoke with a CMPD officer who was already there. 

The man was transported to CMC-Main for minor injuries. 

No one is in custody at this time, police said. 

This remains an open and ongoing investigation.
