Man shot at apartment complex in northeast Charlotte, police investigating

- Police are investigating a shooting that took place in the University area Monday night. 

Around 4:00 p.m. officers were called to the 200 block of Gracyn Olivia Dr. for reports of an assault with a deadly weapon.

Upon arrival, they found a man with a gunshot wound in the parking lot of an apartment complex. Medic says the victim's injury is life-threatening, and he was taken to the hospital for treatment. 

Police say a person of interest has been found and is cooperating with detectives. No additional suspects are being sought at this time. 

Detectives are continuing to interview witnesses, and canvassing the area for any others.
