Police: Man shot and killed in Lancaster County

- A man was pronounced dead at the hospital after being shot Wednesday evening in Lancaster County, according to the sheriff's office.

Deputies were called to the 600 block of Hood Park Lane just before 5:30 p.m. where they found a man in a yard with an apparent gunshot wound.

The victim, later identified as Demarcus Laquan Hendrix, 34, was transported to Springs Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Deputies believe a car that was found at another location may be connected to the shooting. The vehicle was taken to the sheriff's office for processing.

No one has been taken into custody at this time.

“We have learned much about this homicide in a short time,” Sheriff Barry Faile said. “We have a full contingent of deputies and investigators with boots on the ground and are continuing to run down leads.
