Messages bring positivity to school bathrooms at Fort Mill elementary

- Peeling, painting and blow drying --- that's the process it took to change rather plain looking bathrooms into a rooms full of character and positivity!

Words of encouragement going up at Orchard Park Elementary in Fort Mill. Shannon Evans who spearheaded the project said the additions will be seen in all six student bathrooms.

"One of the things that people say is that kids go in the bathroom when they are feeling a little lonely or they just need to escape the hustle of school," said Evans. "We thought how can we really provide an environment where they were kind of getting in the mindset and using positive verbiage with others and speak to themselves that way."

"It's not just colors on the wall. They are messages that can really touch someone's heart. No one can understand so I think it's really great it's happening because I used to hate walking into these bathrooms," Georgia Boykian said.

"It is really cool to be a part of because when I went here whenever I walked into the bathroom they looked kind of boring," Gabby Gregg explained.

"I think it's really cool because there are really cool designs and there are really bright colors," Hannah Bradley said.

Most importantly, all involved are looking forward to the impact these bathrooms will not only have when school starts Monday, but years to come.
