Mooresville man wanted on drug charges arrested in Florida

- A man wanted on drug charges out of North Carolina has been arrested in Florida.

James Michael Freeland, 49, of Mooresville, NC, was apprehended Friday by the Gulfport Police Department and the St. Petersburg Police Department with assistance from the NC SBI and Florida Department of Law Enforcement, Mooresville Police said.

Freeland was wanted by for several felony drug charges including, trafficking and manufacturing marijuana.

The charges stem from a raid of indoor marijuana grow operation in the 200 block of Brumley Road back on April 8.

Freeland is being held in the Pinellas County Jail in Clearwater, FL awaiting extradition back to North Carolina.
