ROCK HILL, S.C. (FOX 46 CHARLOTTE) - A Rock Hill man is facing multiple charges after deputies say he was using Snapchat and Instagram social media platforms to meet with a minor for sex.
Anterrious Lyquan Smith, 23, is charged with two counts of criminal sexual conduct, two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor and soliciting a minor for sex, according to online jail records.
Smith was taken into custody Wednesday following an investigation that began in November, Trent Faris, PIO for the York County Sheriff's Office, confirmed.
The investigation reportedly began when family of a teen girl called authorities to report a sexual encounter between Smith and the girl. The 15-year-old girl reportedly told authorities that she and Smith were in contact through Instagram and Snapchat, and that Smith had picked her up.
Faris confirms the teen was told by another minor that Smith pays girls for sex.
Smith is being held at the York County Jail under a $62,000 bond.
