CONCORD, N.C. (FOX 46) - 91-year-old World War 2 Veteran Victor DiVitorio has stolen the hearts of all his neighbors.
"This is a neighborhood that is just wonderful to be in," DiVitorio said.
So when he needed help fixing his uneven and problematic driveway, his neighbor and Army Veteran Toney Graham said he would do it completely free.
"I have no idea about doing driveways. I don't know anything about concrete but I can swing a sledgehammer. So, I said ‘I will do my best to help you'," Graham said.
Graham found the project would cost a little more than what he anticipated, so he took to GoFundMe for some help of his own hoping people would donate
"Toney made me aware of it and told me about it. I still can't understand it,” DiVitorio said.
In a week, graham went over his goal of $750.
"I couldn't believe it," DiVitorio said.
"It’s incredible of how technology is helping, Right?" FOX 46 Reporter Yolian Ortiz said.
"Oh God yes! I was born too soon! I love this technology," DiVitorio said.
They’ve raise the fund they needed quickly and got the concrete at a discount, Graham still needs help finishing the project. Hope someone can help speed up the process of the project.
DiVitorio says he has faith someone will come to help Graham out.
"They will get their reward. I thank god for these people that are so generous, This neighborhood here, I wouldn't want to give it up. I didn't know where I was going to be born but I know where I'm going to die," Graham said.
