NTSB releases early findings in deadly Boone plane crash

- Early findings have been released in connection to the deadly plane crash in Boone.

Initial reports by NTSB said the plane carrying three people was rapidly ascending from the runway when it clipped a group of pine trees between the airport and the Boone Golf Club.

A chain reaction that forced the plane to become unstable and crash.

The fire from that wreck destroyed the cockpit, cabin and right wing.

Retired State Trooper Brian Chappell was killed in that wreck. The two others on board were seriously injured.

The investigation is still ongoing.
