Officer sticks hands in gunshot wound to save victim's life

- A Charlotte-Mecklenburg police officer is being honored after he helped save a man's life by going above and beyond the call of duty.

In August Officer Alen Sejdic helped a man who had been shot off Teal Point Drive in east Charlotte. The officer actually stuck his hands in the wound to stem the flow of blood.

It was a botched robbery. Officer Sejdic, on the force for a little over a year, called in the description of the car the suspects were driving. It led to a chase by his fellow officers who later apprehended two suspects.

For his actions, Officer Sejdic was named Officer of the Month along with Officer Daniel Kennerly. Officer Kennerly recently stopped a driver under the influence who had just dropped off his child at school.
