UNION COUNTY, NC (FOX 46) - The Union County Sheriff's Office has released the identity of a man who was stabbed to death Wednesday evening.
The victim, Steven Patrick Nicotera, 32, allegedly fought with another man which is what led to the fatal stabbing.
Deputies were called to 4816 Waxhaw-Indian Trail Road, just north of the Village of Wesley Chapel 6:15 p.m. Wednesday after a man covered in blood flagged down a driver stating another man had been stabbed.
Upon arrival, deputies found Nicotera inside the residence. Emergency Medical Services determined that he died from multiple stab wounds. Deputies secured the scene while detectives and crime scene investigators began processing the crime scene on Wednesday.
No charges have been filed, but detectives are still following leads to determine what caused the fight between Nicotera and the other man.
