CHARLOTTE, NC (FOX 46 WJZY) - The owner of a party bus has been issued multiple citations after a UNC-Charlotte student fell through the emergency exit window and was then struck by at least two vehicles, police said.
Victor Rabb, the owner of the party bus, was issued the citations after CMPD said the vehicle was uninsured and was displaying a fictitious license plate during the time the deadly incident occurred.
Polly Miranda Rogers, 20, was potentially struck by two vehicles after falling from the party bus to her death around 10:25 p.m. Tuesday, May 1 in the 4500 block of North Tryon Street.
Investigators have been able to interview the driver of one of the vehicles. They are still working to identify the driver of the second vehicle, who may have hit the student.
UNC Charlotte fraternity, Kappa Sigma, also suspended their operations last week in connection to the 20-year-old student's death. Rogers fell out of the emergency exit window, which was rented out by the fraternity, before she fell and was hit.
Rabb has voluntarily surrendered the bus to the NC State Highway Patrol’s Motor Carrier Division to allow investigators the opportunity to inspect the vehicle for any equipment violations.
