Suspect sought in Rock Hill armed robbery

- The Rock Hill Police Department is asking for the public's help in locating a suspect who is wanted in connection to an armed robbery that occurred Wednesday afternoon. 

Warrants have been issued for William Joseph Bogue for the armed robbery and fleeing from officers. 

The incident happened around 3 p.m. Wednesday, May 23 in the Galleria Mall parking lot in the 2200 block of Dave Lyle Blvd. 

A woman in hers 60s told police she was walking to her car when a man in a black pickup truck pulled up beside her and got out of his vehicle. He reportedly grabbed her purse and pointed a handgun at her. He then jumped back into his truck and fled. 

The woman said she was struck by the door of the truck. She was transported to PMC for minor injuries.

The pickup truck was spotted by police a short time later on Anderson Road and a short police chase ensued. The suspect vehicle was able to escape in very heavy traffic on Celanese Road, police said.  

The victim's purse was later recovered in a dumpster in the 1300 block of E. Main Street. 

This investigation remains open and ongoing.
