CHARLOTTE, NC (WJZY) - An 86-year-old woman died after being attacked by two dogs in south Charlotte, according to police.
Officers responded to the 3200 block of Luke Crossing near the Arboretum Shopping Center around 12:56 p.m. on Monday.
Upon arrival, Animal Care & Control found Bessie Flowers suffering from fatal dog bite injuries. Flowers was in town staying with relatives and police said the dogs belonged to a fellow family member.
Neighbors said the dogs have a history of aggressive behavior.
Questions still surround what started the attack as family members did not wish to speak with media at the scene.
The dogs are now on a 10-day quarantine at animal control while police investigate.
