CHARLOTTE, NC - The two dogs that attacked a 9-year-old boy seriously injuring him have been euthanized, according to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Animal Care & Control.
CMPD AC&C obtained an owner surrender on both dogs that were involved in the attack incident that took place near Cherrycrest Lane on Sunday, April 10.
The dogs completed a 10-day rabies quarantine Wednesday, April 20, and were humanely euthanized, according to AC&C.
According to Charlotte-Mecklenburg AC&C, the young boy had been playing in a nearby wooded path near Archdale Neighborhood Park when he was attacked by the dogs.
Police said one dog was a 3-year-old pit bull mix and the other was a 6-year-old pit bull mix.
Neither dog was up to date on their rabies vaccinations, according to officials.
The investigation has been closed and there are no charges.
