Plaza Midwood skate park working to feed the homeless

- Skating and sandwiches -- a Charlotte skate park is working to fight homelessness.

"We know we can make a positive impact," co-owner of OSO Skate Park Brett Coppedge said.

OSO Skate Park, located at 933 Louise Ave. Suite 109 is teaming up with Jimmy John's and Issa Vibe Adventures to make sandwiches for the homeless.

"Everyone matters," co-owner Phillip Gripper said.

OSO will open its doors every second Saturday of the month beginning in October from 10 a.m. to noon. People are encouraged to get in touch with the park and find out what sort of food or donations they can bring to help in the process.

From there, the sandwiches will go to the Urban Ministry Center -- a group that works with the homeless.
